Hilltop Music Production is a multi-use production space to develop songs for artists and bands. Each of the member of the team has focused skill sets, differing around writing, performance and engineering. Hilltop wants to help artists and bands turn their musical ideas into the finished product. Their team of experienced, professional musicians have the skills needed to make this happen.
"Eat A Corpse" is a single released late last year by Cardiff based alt-rock band, Mawpit. This track was produced by our very own Calum Wotherspoon.
"Something Something" is off Radio Laika's latest EP, "Blue On The Inside". The EP was written and produced by Radio Laika and Darragh Binchy here at Hilltop.
"Whiplash" is a recent single from Avril Lamber. It features Tom Dodd behind the kit and Calum Wotherspoon taking the reins on the production.
Calum Wotherspoon is a producer, engineer and songwriter. Calum’s renowned amongst members of the Bath and Bristol music scene for his consistent output and quality. Over the past several years, Calum has made himself known for his work in ILL WILL, an alternative rock band that disbanded earlier this year. The group's addictive sound and tight arrangements can be directly linked with Calum’s skills as a songwriter.
Sam Cother is a producer, songwriter and session musician. Since 2017, he has been producing music under the pseudonym, BabyShoes. With several releases under his belt, 2020 was his biggest yet. Aside from his solo endeavors, Sam is a very keen collaborator. He has been working alongside prominent members of the Bath music scene throughout the past several years and has made waves as a producer and an engineer.
Lloyd Mitchell is a songwriter, arranger and visual artist. With a professional career in music spanning back several years, Lloyd has perfected the art of crafting tasteful arrangements and catchy hooks that will always keep you wanting more. Lloyd has also established himself as a prominent visual artist. Devising captivating setpieces that allow the music to breathe while still being an integral part to any show.
Tom Dodd is a master of the trade. He is one of Bath and Bristol music scene’s go-to photographers and videographers. Shooting for bands such as Dinosaur Pile-Up, Phoxjaw, Soeur and The Manatees, it’s no question that Tom’s passion and skill for capturing a live performance is second to none. However, Tom’s expertise doesn’t stop there. He has been the drummer for Bristol based band, Squidge, since 2017 and has gone on to session for many other artists as well, becoming highly sought after for his skills behind the kit.
Darragh Binchy is a songwriter, mixing engineer and producer. Darragh has been an integral part of the Bath/Bristol indie-pop outfit, Radio Laika, since late 2017. They’re well known for their incredible visual performances and their joyous sound. As well as this, Darragh has taken the production reins for all the group’s musical output so far. In terms of Darragh’s role within Hilltop, Darragh will be the primary host of Hilltop Sounds, a radio show that aims to demystify the dark holes of music production.
